Moments from the journey
A devotional pilgrimage
The Shivaratri pilgrimage is a deep dive into the sacred — a journey through India’s most powerful Shiva power spots, culminating in the all-night vigil of Maha Shivaratri, the most spiritually charged night of the year. It is an encounter with your own soul, consciousness and lifeforce energy.
This pilgrimage moves through sacred India in the days leading up to Maha Shivaratri. Those who wish to be present for the festival’s peak days can continue to Sri Kaleshwar’s ashram in Penukonda for the optional Shivaratri program (February 27–March 8).
“The Himalayas, Shirdi, Penukonda, Tirupati, Kalahasti, Varanasi, Arunachala… certain places are high, holy places. As soon as you arrive there, your soul receives amazing energy. The energy exists there for several thousand years.”
— Sri Kaleshwar
Sacred places on this path
Visit power spots connected to Penukonda and travel with a group committed to inner practice, shared learning and devotional experience.
The journey brings together sacred places, group meditation, satsang and time for reflection.
Shirdi
Our journey begins in Shirdi, taking the blessings of Sai Baba at his maha samadhi. We experience the extraordinary joy and devotion of this beloved town — a powerful opening to the pilgrimage.
Sri Sailam
Sri Sailam is home to the Mallikarjuna jyotirlingam, one of the twelve self-manifested lingams of Shiva, set in forested hills above the Krishna river — among the most powerful Shiva power spots in all of India.
Varanasi
Varanasi — Kashi, the city of Shiva — is the oldest living city in the world. We witness the Ganga aarti on the ghats and sit in the presence of the Vishwanath jyotirlingam in this timeless holy city.
Penukonda
For those who wish to go deeper, the Penukonda ashram program is available as an optional add-on to the Shivaratri Journey. At the Shiva Sai Mandir in Penukonda, South India, the focus is not sightseeing — it is going deep within your own spiritual process, meditating and connecting to high Divine energy, with the option of a half-day visit to one or two nearby temples.

Places are offered to a small group of sincere participants. If you feel called to spend Shivaratri in India with an experienced guide, an inquiry is the natural first step. Lora responds to every message personally.
Your guide: Lora Stone
Lora Stone has been leading Journeys to Sacred India for the past 10 years. She is a Senior student and teacher of the Ancient Indian Divine Knowledge, and spent over a decade living and studying in Penukonda, South India, in direct training with Sri Kaleshwar (1973–2012) — one of India’s most celebrated modern saints.
Sri Kaleshwar taught his students the laws of Creation and performed all the miracles that Jesus did, teaching his students to do the same. Lora has had numerous darshans with the Divine Mother and many, many miracle experiences. With unity, open hearts and the right channels, she teaches, all miracles are possible.
On every journey, Lora works with the soul energies of the group to help pull the highest healing channels for each participant. She gives special mantras to connect with the cosmic energy particular to each sacred place we visit. Her groups are kept small to medium in size, so everyone receives personal attention — and a greater opportunity for genuine Divine experience.
Beyond the journeys, Lora works as a trauma healer, soul healer, spiritual coach and teacher, both online and in San Rafael, Marin County, where she resides. She holds regular Full and New Moon fire ceremonies — all are welcome.
When she leads a pilgrimage, she brings the knowledge of a practitioner and the care of a friend, creating a safe and loving container where real transformation can happen naturally. The connections formed tend to last long after the journey ends — many participants return again and again, and stay in touch for years.
